It’s Him

Not understanding the circumstances that come my way
Ain’t nobody need to know what I’m going through as I lay awake
Let me smile there ain’t nothing happening here
I’m afraid to seem afraid

These waves get higher and higher everyday
When I think the storm is over the waves come crashing stronger
They try to take me under
They know I’m afraid and I can’t swim
It might be easier to go with the current and just give in

As I feel defeated I look up and in the midst of the storm I see Him
He’s walking on water coming towards me
Telling me “Do not be afraid”
“You don’t need to know how to swim when you can walk on water with me”

It is Him the one who told the storm to calm
The one who made a way in the midst of the sea
My eyes were fogged I could not see past my fears and circumstances
But behold it is my constant the one who never left me
The one who’s never failed me

As the wind continues to blow He covers me under his wing
I will not be shaken for stronger is my foundation
As the waves crash I hold onto the rock and remain
I will wait patiently for greater is He than my storm
Greater is He in whom I believe
Greater is He in whom I shall abide
